“Image Rename It”
Was developed by an independent appraiser that has been in the auto damage appraisal business for more than 35 years. In that time there has been an ever increasing demand on insurance appraisers, body shops, independent appraisers and the like to re-name their digital images by the insurance industry. This demand for having images re-named with a better description, and a more standardized name sequence is increasing all the time.
Offering this program to your appraisers will help the entire industry where easier image renaming and time reductions are desired plus the uniformity this program will bring. When you suggest this program to appraisers, body shops (and insurance companies) it will enable you to request downstream appraisers to actually do the renaming of those camera image names with less trepidation. They will be uploading them to you with a better descriptive image name and with some uniformity across the industry. Using the predefined database of names will also help with conformity of image naming as most will use those names in the included database. Some will modify and add to the database. A new or revised database can be uploaded to us for free distribution to others using this program. It will also allow you to service your insurance accounts better because this program will help your appraisers by having a new tool to save them time that was previously spent on renaming images one by one manually, plus a similar conformity or pattern of an image name scheme.

The program comes with an inclusive database of names for the auto body industry so, it is an install and go program for the insurance related needs to quickly re-name your auto damage images right out of the box. Other industries can edit the auto database or create a whole new one from scratch.
It is a well known fact that naming images can be a time consuming task and eat into an appraisers time to manually right click on and rename every image by typing in a new name for every image. Having a descriptive name to satisfy the next viewer, be it the insurance company or the vehicle owner or a court room proceeding. Images with descriptive names are also easier to find in a search and very easy to identify what the image was taken of and for what reason.
As an appraiser, taking sometimes upwards of 100 images per day re-naming them is a time intensive task. The time it takes to manually rename just one image which if done quickly would take approx 25 seconds per image. A slower person would spend 45 seconds to a minute per image.
Times this by 100 images @ 25 seconds = 2500 seconds or 41.5 minutes, but that’s only if you’re quick at it. A time study in action video HERE
