Over the years of assessing auto damages for insurance companies we have been asked to rename our camera images many times by many different insurance companies. This by and large is a time consuming task to say the least as we sometimes take more than a hundred images per day of the damaged vehicles we see. This can add up to a large amount of time consumed and cuts into profits and time better spent on other aspects of a claim.
In light of this wasted time we felt it was about time someone came up with an easy and very quick means of performing this task, so we looked for a solution but found none that would fit our needs.
This lead to having to create such a program that would make this task quick and simple cutting way down the time spent renaming each and every image from the default cameras names like SAM_001, SAM_002 and so on to a naming style that would describe the image taken for the insurance carrier(s) or anyone viewing the images.
This resulted in the program we are now making available to the insurance industry, body shops, all sorts of businesses that use imaging as a means to catalog pictures and to the general public as well. This program can be used by anyone who takes a large amount of images and needs to rename them on a regular basis using a user programmable set of database names. So the user can instantly rename any image with just two clicks .
Many businesses can benefit from having a time saver such as this having a descriptive name that depicts what the image was taken of or a reason it was taken on a repetive basis for naming images.
This program does not require you to save the images after naming them as it automatically overwrites the old name as soon as you click the stored name in the database. This allows you to click and instantly move on to the next image and click again to rename the next image and so on in the folder where your images are located and again in the destination folder you selected as your storage location.
In addition there is also annotations that the user can put on any image. The program can add the same image with no annotations or (arrows, squares, or circles) to the destination folder and then using that same image the user can add an arrow and a different name to that image and thus have two or more images with different naming on each image to 1. show an overall image of an item and then also have that same image to point out something smaller in that image but with the different name.
The download above is a demo program that will allow you to test the program for 100 image renames before it quits.
You will need to unlock the program with a Key to continue using it for as long as you like.

Program purpose:
This program is a useful tool for anyone that takes many pictures on a regular basis and wants to rename these images with minimal time spent on a daunting task such as this. Useful for professional such as real estate, body shops, insurance companies, bird watchers, mechanics, space and star gazing enthusiasts or any other heavy picture takers for work related or even home photo hobby album storage. For businesses this program is a time saver to rename images over and over again using the same names like an auto insurance claims department would do in auto damage claims where many images of cars and parts are taken and cataloged. The program allows the user to add or edit names in the database on the fly as needed. Many businesses have a need for such a program.
Each database tab can be edited on the fly to set up the database of each tab level, while editing and renaming images as a user works. IE: There is a means to type in a new name (not alredy in the database) in the image window once from the open image window and then add that name to the database of the selected tab section with a simple click. That click adds the name to the database for future reuse again and again in the currently open database the user is in. A user can create many different databases for different tasks. Just load up the database you need from the file menu and go. These names will then be easily reselectable for any other image by simply clicking on the name and the program will instantly rename the displayed image to the name in the database that was clicked on. The program will instantly save that image in the folder it was viewed from, over writing the old image name and it will also send that newly named image to the "REQUIRED" destination folder with the new name on it.. This will allow the user to scroll thru many images and rename each from the pre-stored names in the database.
No need to save anything as the program saves and overwrites the camera assigned image name with the new clicked on name from the database as each database name is selectively clicked. If there are two or more images for the same name, for example if your a body shop and you take 4 images of a fender and you just want to name it a fender for naming sake. The program will name the first image "Fender.jpg" but the second image will be named "Fender Dmgs 2.jpg" and the third will be "Fender Dmgs 3.jpg" and so on. This will work this way as long as you're still sending your images to the same destination folder your images are being sent to. As you change the destination folder to another vehicle the renaming will start all over again with the fist image of the same name having no appending names and the working upward as that same name is reseleced for another image in that same folder. When you load up a new set of images the first fender will be named as "Fender Dmgs.jpg" like in the first folder set of images described above. Note the file extension will not be seen in the open image window to avoid that being part of the names as a convenience. There is a setting for this in windows so the .jpg, .png etc. is invisible. See the tutorials page for making this small change in windows. Tutorials
The user can also edit the database so a predefined set of names can be added to the database of names under each of the user created tabs and sub tabs. NOTE: There must be at least one image loaded into the program so the tabs will all become active. Also a user can create a new blank database and proceed to add main category tabs and sub category tabs and then fill in the image name entries at will. Many databases can be created, each will need to be loaded into the program for use based on the desired naming for the type of images to be renamed. Example databases can be for a mechanical shop, a body shop, insurance co, a botanist, a medical profession, Police scene images and a whole host of other personal and business uses. As mentioned each database can be loaded from the file menu.
SPECIAL NOTE: Closing any database deletes that database and is not recoverable.
Switching between databases is as easy as selecting one from the file menu.

We have created several discount block sets for your use when a quantity purchases of five to 20 programs are desired. The codes can only be used once per machine on a given computer. For larger quantiry KEY purchases contact us for a negotiated pricing. We can give a significant discount for large quantities.
Installation
Installation instructions are that the computer that this program will be used on must be connected to the Internet during the KEY activaion process. You may move this program to another machine as desired. If you do move your activated program to another machine you will need to deactivate the program on the old computer (with internet access) before you can reactivate your KEY on a new machine. You will again have to be online for both the deactivation and the reactivation as the program will access the server and make sure the license is still active. The program must be able to access our server in order to deactivate your old install thus reverting it back to a demo version. You will then need to have the new computer online as well to access for the new machine to authorize your key in the new machine. If you loose your key for the program you can log back into our site and into your account to copy and past your code again for the new computer. If you move to a new computer you may find it will not work if you left your old computer with this program still in use with the key active in that olde machine because the key is only usable on one machine at a time. The server in this case may if it finds two machines using the same key deactivate the key and neither program will work until you reactivate it in your account from the new computer your now using. If there are any issues with this we can assign you a new key for the new computer as long as you have an active account prior to contacing us showing your previous purchase. If this was a company key and you want to use this at both home and work computers a new key will be required for the second home or vise vera a work place machine.
There is no fee for this to transfer of keys from machine to machine.
What You Should Know
The free “Image Rename It” program (download) is a demo product that allows you to use it for 100 image renames testing before it quits working and ask for an activation KEY. After that you will need to purchase an unlock KEY to continue to use the program.
To reiterate the above, If you want to transfer your license code to another machine you can do so as long as you remove the key from the old computer thus deactivating that old machines "Image Rename It" program. Deactivating the program on your old machine will leave the program key on the old machine but it will no longer work after you reactivate the same key on the new machine. If you uninstall the program but don't deactivate it first the KEY will still be active on our servers and the new computer will not be able to be activated with that same key.
When you deactivate your key from the old machine and reactivate a new computer you can install the key and it will work. The machine will access the server via API to make sure the new machine has a valid key if the key is still active in the old machine then the program will tell you that key is already taken or it may show an error which means that key is active on another computer. If not and you know your key to be valid and you deactivated the old machine you should log into Image Rename It and check your account to see if it has or hasn't been deactivated. New Databases:
If you create a brand new database from scratch and want to remove the automotive database from the program you can do so simply by making sure you in your new database by looking at the front screen and seeing your database name showing in the program just under the "Image Rename It" wording and then by using the file menu/close database you can then select the automotive database from the dropdown list and delete it.
This program can be integrated under a licensing agreement into other software that has image storage capability like all of the auto body estimating programs that store images under each vehicle owner's damage loss for the insurance companies and auto body shops. There are many other such software programs that store images that are attached to an auto claim or other such data programs like medical cases, bird watching data storage etc.
This integration can be tailored into other programs. In a tailored application, when the destination button is pressed the program would open the destination base folder or database records within that storage app folder location or storage database for that program. The user can then select a claim number or clients name or file number etc. That will then be used by the renaming program to copy the renamed images to that folder or database which will be within that programs files under the proper case names or claim numbers etc. This will put the renamed images directly into the file claim under the selected destination so when the image storage program is opened the images will all be attached to that file. Just select the file you want your images to go to and our program will place them there as they are renamed from within our program all in two button clicks.
licensing:
Contact us for information on licensing our product to be used in conjunction with your software product. We can program our software to send renamed images to your programs storage location seamlessly. Incorporating a direct send to your image location(s) which can improve productivity and bring time savings to the end users where they will not have to load the images into the claims or estimating software as another additional step, thus eliminating that step where the user would have to manually load those images into the claims. With this setup clicking the destination folder button on our program, the end user will be taken directly to your programs main storage location where the user would be required to select which file to send the renamed images to, be it a claim number, file number, a file folder or in the case of it being an auto insurance claim, the name of the vehicle owner for those images etc.
